Europe’s Premiere Swing Vocal Act
Steven began playing the guitar at the age of seven and played in various bands throughout his school years. He first ventured into the recording studio at the tender age of 14 (and still has the tapes to prove it!) Throughout his varied musical career he has played most of the major London venues including The Marquee, The Rock Gardens, Hope & Anchor, Dingwalls, 101, etc. During the mid 80s and early 90s he worked as a freelance engineer and producer and produced a string of indi label singles and albums. He has worked with acts that include Nick Van Ede (The Cutting Crew), Wigfield (UK No 1 with ‘Saturday Night’), China Black, Let Loose, Nick Coler (KLF), and many more. He has won numerous talent and Karaoke competitions and was a finalist in the nationwide ‘Pub Idol’ competition in 2003. He formed ‘The Pack’ in the Autumn of 2004 having discovered a love for the standards of classic big band swing music. Covering legends such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jnr, and Bobby Darin.
Back in the studio in 2006, he arranged and produced the Pack’s debut album ‘Friends and Heroes’. “Although time and technology may have overtaken me, the basic ingredients for making a great record remain the same; take a great song, a good vocal, and record it as simply and as honestly as possible”.
